Description
20 Liter Jerry Can system includes spout and spout adapter. All of our Wavian Jerry Can systems come with an EPA, DOT, C. A. R. B. approved spout. We have also added an adapter since some gasoline powered vehicles need a smaller spout to fit in the filler. The adapter sits on the spout and needs to be turned clockwise until it snaps into place. The spout needs to be pushed to start the flow. The weight of the gasoline helps to open the spout to facilitate an easy quick pour. All Wavian products have a 2 year warranty against manufacturers defects. Fully paint-coated inside and outside. Have a full, internal breather pipe for splash-proof pouring. The highest quality Jerry can out there. Original Mil Spec. DOT, EPA and CARB approved. Comes with a safety spout attached and also has an adapter for vehicles with smaller filler receivers. Manufactured from 0. 9mm Cold Rolled Steel ( DC 04 EN 10130). Dual pan construction. Unique wide channel breather for better smoother pouring. Seam welded for extra strength. Three Handle Configuration. Leak-proof Bayonet Closure. Locking pin in cap. Strengthened hinge on cap to prevent accidental bending when closing. Cap designed to hold open when discharging the can. Lined inside with fuel resistant Rezol enamel to prevent rusting. Painted exterior epoxy polyester powder coat. Manufactured and tested to comply with the following standards: DOT, EPA , C. A. R. B. , DIN 7274 and BAM – GGR001. Australian Standard – AS 2906. German Standard-TUV/GS. Swedish Standard-SP. UN-Dangerous goods approval.

Meets it’s Desc very well; in every detail.
I particularly like the (retained) locking rod on the (closed) access; very effective/reliable/trustworthy. Closed container seals VERY tightly. No leakage, at all; even before I relieved the pressure from its sitting in a Summer-hot/outdoor location (140+ deg. within the vehicle).
I keep this in my trunk (sedan: 2003 Pontiac Bonneville); so am/was concerned about leakage/fire hazard if T-boned in an accident. I shifted from my old, 2.5 G. plastic spare fuel container, to this heavy-duty metal one, for that very reason.
I had the prior plastic one enclosed in three heavy-duty plastic zip bags (one within the next/within the next); so as to minimize potential leakage/danger if compromised during a traffic accident (T-bone, or roll-over).
They were slightly too small to fully enclose this metal tank. So I compromised by using them, and then further wrapping the pkg all up in multiple layers of self-sticky ‘moving wrap’ film (thus providing a bit of cushioning); until I procure some larger zip bags.
Overall, VERY pleased with this 5 G. spare fuel container (actually holds slightly more than 5 G.).
HIGHLY Recommended.

Much better value than plastic gas cans that cost nearly as much, with lousy pouring spouts. The pouring spout on this metal can did not fit exactly snug so there was a little leaking, but I’m mainly using this can to pour vertically, not from the side like to fill a vehicle. Plastic gas cans should be no more than $10, so might as well buy something proven and durable.

Best can on the market!

These cans are leak proof and durable. However, the nozzle included with them is utter garbage…probably due to some EPA regulation. Consider buying an after market nozzle that’s easier to use.

Spout wasn’t included.

As always, Wavian brings the quality. These are tough cans. On par with the old steel GI Jerry cans. Much better, in my opinion, than the commercial “Jerry Cans” that Blitz makes now.
Gus –
I recommended, heavy duty. Easy to use.

These will hold up better for storing fuel. They came in a big box and required a signature.

This item is great for your outdoors needs, solid product easy to use and heavy duty.
I could give it 5 starts but unfortunately the item was not properly packed and got damaged during transit.
But I have to say I contacted the seller and they responded promptly and it was a pleasure to work with!
Pros:
It does as advertised
Cons:
Is heavy and if you fill it up even more so.
Would I buy it again Yes, specifically now that I know it is backed by a solid customer service.
Note to seller
Bubble wrap will help avoid damage during transit.

they are well built. need them since my car gets dismal gas mileage, and we are planning some LONG trips up in canada on long logging trails. RED painted, and wth “GAS” label, so they are good to use for gasoline in all fifty United States

This is a price fuel can, but the quality is first rate. I have the blue for Kerosene and a couple of red for gas, they are all flawless. if you need to store and transport fuel these are the right cans to do the job.
